Artificial intelligence is a technology that’s constantly evolving, and it promises to allow DAM to take a giant step forward. This technological innovation has made it possible for indexing to progress and get even better.
As we know, indexing is a mechanism that’s not always easy to implement. It can quickly become a real chore. But don’t worry, Einden is looking out for you !
By integrating into our DAM solution algorithms that are capable of automatically recognizing the main components of a photo, Einden is making indexing simpler, more comprehensive, and faster. You can add to that automatic recognition of dominant colors, shapes, landscapes, objects, and faces, and you’ll see how indexing can be more accessible than you ever imagined!
Artificial intelligence is great, but machine learning is even better!
Thanks to this technology, recognition becomes increasingly precise. Machine learning allows computers to “learn” without having to be programmed. For example, you can submit several photos of the same product or of the same machine (an airplane, a car, etc.) to the DAM system. After some time spent learning, the program will be able to automatically recognize the make and model of the product or machine in question.
Your software can, indeed, recognize people! The user just uploads a photo into the DAM software and it will first detect faces, then associate those faces with specific people. Of course, you first have to take the time to feed the algorithm several photos of the same people. The system will then learn on its own and get better as it’s used more. It will eventually get to a success rate close to 100%.
Ephoto Dam has thought of everything! You can blur the faces of people not recognized in indexed photos and thus protect their image rights. This technological advancement is particularly useful for local governments because they can use it to easily identify elected officials and other people in photos taken during demonstrations, gatherings, and speeches.
AI also offers valuable assistance for the indexing of audio and video files. Indeed, automatic transcription of audio content is one of the areas where publishers of DAM software are experimenting. The goal is to use AI to produce more accurate transcriptions in French or English, for example, which can be very useful for subtitling videos.
And let’s not forget voice transcription! It can also be used as a source of indexing. Some DAM solutions are able to detect the words and concepts that come up most frequently in an audio or video file (an interview, a speech, a report, etc.). The software then captures the content of what’s said and does its own pre-indexing.
Finally, AI can automatically recognize a monument in a photo or video and thus attach a location to the file. Indeed, Ephoto Dam includes a location module that allows you to access media directly from a map, by geographic region, by country, or by company department, for example.
And let’s not forget : AI can also be used to segment videos from one shot to the next. That means you can add chapters for video sequences so that they can be used and distributed more easily. AI can also be used to recognize specific situations in images, like a person in uniform, for example.
All in all, artificial intelligence will be your greatest ally for indexing.
